Is the free plan throttled?
There is no data cap and the free plan uses the same smart China routing. Real-world speed depends on your local network and how loaded a node is at the time — that is true on VIP as well. We do not throttle the free plan to push you toward paying.
Does the free plan show ads?
Yes. Ad-free use is one of the VIP ($1.99/mo) benefits, and it is the main difference between the free and paid plans.
Do I need a credit card for the free plan?
