Why does the TV say "region restricted" after casting when the phone plays fine?
That happens with push casting (DLNA-style): the phone only hands the video URL to the TV, and the TV fetches the stream itself — outside your phone’s China route, so the region lock blocks it. Switch to screen mirroring (AirPlay mirroring or your phone’s mirror mode): the phone decodes the video and streams the whole screen, so playback works.
Does RiftVPN have an Android TV or Apple TV app?
Not available for download at the moment. A TV option will ship when it is ready; until then, phone screen mirroring or a computer over HDMI is the recommended setup, and the free plan covers it.
How do I watch Tencent Video or iQIYI on an Apple TV?
Apple TV cannot run a China VPN directly. Connect an iPhone or iPad on the same Wi-Fi to the RiftVPN China route, then AirPlay screen-mirror to the Apple TV to watch Tencent Video, iQIYI or Mango TV on the television.
How is this different from an "overseas Chinese TV box"?
